Court Line Dimensions

Don’t worry. There’s not going to be a quiz at the end of this post. (Although that’s not a bad idea for a future post.) However, speaking of quizzes, I was inspired to write this post following a quiz by a customer.

What’s funny is some customers hire you to paint their court because you’re the “expert” yet they quiz you on the measurements. They ask you questions that always end with, “Are you sure?” It makes me feel like I’m on that part of Who Wants to be a Millionaire where they ask, “Is that your final answer?”

Customer- “How far is the free throw line?”

Me- “It’s 15′ from the face of the backboard.”

Customer- “Are you sure?”

Me- Yes.

Customer- “Wait. Isn’t it 10′?

Me- “No. That’s the height of the rim.”

Customer- “Are you sure?”

No matter how many times it happens, it doesn’t bother me. I get it. And, I get a kick out of it.
